PHCC  STRATEGIC PLAN

2011 – 2016

 

VISION: To be a student-centered college in which students are effectively engaged in learning, personal growth, and achievement during and beyond their PHCC experience.

 

MISSION: PHCC is a comprehensive community college committed to enriching the quality of life in its service region through student success, lifelong learning, and community engagement using a culture of evidence.

 

GOALS:

  • Access – Increase the number of individuals who are educated and trained by PHCC by 13% with at least 50% of the increase coming from underserved populations.

 

  • Student Success – Increase the number of students graduating, transferring, or completing a workforce credential by 50%, including increasing the success of students from underserved populations by 75%. Increase the number of developmental education students graduating or transferring in four years to at least one in three students (33%).

 

  • Affordability - Increase the number of students receiving private scholarships or grants by 20%.

 

  • Workforce – Double the annual number of employers provided training and services with a particular focus on high-demand occupational fields.

 

  • Resources - Raise 25% more gifts and grants.

 

  • Faculty and Staff Excellence – Promote, provide, and encourage professional development opportunities such that 100% of all faculty and staff participate in at least one professional development program, activity, or event annually. At a minimum, 60% of all courses will be taught by full-time teaching faculty.

 

  • Physical Infrastructure – Provide an efficient and effective learning and working environment, with consideration of available resources, including reducing deferredmaintenance and reducing dollars spent on rent.

 

  • Institutional Effectiveness - Establish standard methods of data collection and presentations across the institution aligning various reporting requirements.
