The Patrick Henry Community College Foundation has recently added Kelly Witt of Stuart to its Board of Directors.
Witt is an insurance agent with State Farm in Ridgeway. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He is a member of the Patrick County Athletic Booster Club, the Virginia Tech Hokie Club, an elder at Stuart Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Kings Grant Board of Trustees. Witt has been married for 24 years to his wife Elizabeth, and they have two daughters, Carlin and Gracen.
“We believe (Kelly) will add to our board in many ways,” said Christopher Parker, executive director of the Foundation. “Since he lives in Patrick County, he will add a fresh perspective to the concerns of our students there, and one of his daughters graduated from PH, so he will bring an understanding of the benefits, savings and significance of attending PHCC.”
The Patrick Henry Community College Foundation is a not-for profit organization that is fiscally and organizationally separate from the college. Its goal is to enhance community awareness of Patrick Henry Community College; to secure contributions, bequests and donations; and to account for, manage and help appreciate monies or property submitted to the Foundation.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors is composed of representatives from the service area of Patrick Henry Community College who represent positive leadership and community influence, and who have an interest in using their influence on behalf of the college. Board members serve three-year terms, with the option of being reappointed once their term ends.
