ASSESSMENT CENTER |
WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring "real-world" skills that employers believe are critical to job success. This system enables educators to identify gaps between student skills and employer needs, which will, in turn, improve students' success in entry-level and subsequent jobs. WorkKeys enables businesses to reduce turnover, overtime, and waste while increasing morale through effective selection decisions and training processes. As a WorkKeys service scoring center, Workforce Development and Continuing Education handles profiles, testing and scoring. Other assessments are specific tests companies have requested, which include, but are not limited to, HAY Aptitude, Wonderlic, Management Readiness Profile, In-Basket, Bennett Mechanical, Perdue Pegboard, and Assembly Test. |

Although no college credit will be awarded for these programs, students may earn continuing education units (CEU's) or Continuing Professional Education (CPE), which is recorded permanently by the office of lifelong learning. A workforce development student obtains occupational education and skills by participating in any of the following: open enrollment occupational courses and services; customized training and services; IT industry certification and testing; and transitional programs and services.
Community services supplement the regular academic instructional programs and provide personal enrichment opportunities. These programs are often delivered in the form of workshops, seminars, cultural events, conferences, lectures, forums, discussion groups, films, exhibits, or on-line.
