David Draper (2010)

David Draper earned an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from PHCC in 1976. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mississippi State University and a Certificate in Job Placement/Development from the University of Maryland. He currently serves as executive director of the MARC Workshop, where he established the MWS-Brain Injury Services for individuals with traumatic brain injury, expanded the program to include case management for the counties of Patrick, Henry and Pittsylvania, and established the MWS-Mobile Employment Services for Henry County and Martinsville. He has written a number of funded grants which provide various training programs to non-profits and service organizations. He is currently working on renovations and restoration of the Dry Bridge School, an original Rosenwald School located on the MARC campus to serve as an education center for adults with special needs, and to preserve and recognize African-American history in the Martinsville and Henry County areas. He is a member of the Henry County Public Schools Special Education Advisory Council, the Edwards Adult Day Center, and the Martinsville Area Disability Employment Network.
