Rhonda Howell (2008)
Rhonda Howell graduated from PHCC in 1978 with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursing. She continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and at Duke University, where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing Administration. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing at PHCC. Prior to joining the full-time faculty at PHCC, Howell served in various capacities at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, including Administrative Director of Radiology/Cardiology/Oncology Services, Director of Emergency Services/Urgent Care/Ambulatory Surgery, Interim Director of Nursing Services, Acting Assistant to the Director of Nursing Services, Coronary Care Unit Registered Nurse, Clinical Nursing Supervisor, and Critical Care Charge Nurse. Her community service has included various committee memberships at Mercy Crossing Christian Academy, City/County Advisory Committees for strategic planning of Public Safety, Citizens Against Family Violence, and Advisory Board for Christian Education and Youth Activities.
