Dr. Melissa Lannom (2011)

Dr. Melissa Lannom earned a Certificate in Computer Operations from PHCC in 1988. She then earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Averett College, a Master of Science in Education from Radford University, and a Doctor of Education from Liberty University in Educational Leadership. She is currently employed as a Reading Specialist by Henry County Public Schools. Dr. Lannom also taught elementary school for Henry County and Martinsville City public schools, served as a Professor’s Assistant in the School of Education at Liberty University, was an adjunct instructor at PHCC. She currently teaches online in the School of Education at Liberty. Her professional members include the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the International Reading Association. She is also a member of Chatmoss Country Club, Piedmont Arts, YMCA, and the Virginia Museum of Natural History. She was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 1996 by Tri Area Jaycees, and Teacher of the Month in 2004 by Henry County Public Schools.
