The Distinguished Alumni Class of 2012 includes Becky Lovell, who earned an associate in applied science in management in 1994.
Lovell also received a certificate in general business in 1994 and a career studies certificate in community services leadership in 2009 from PHCC. She also earned a bachelor of science in business administration/marketing from Liberty University in 1999. She was certified by the assisted living administrator program at Danville Community College in 1999, and the U.S. Chamber Institute for Organization Management at the University of Georgia in 1999.
She is the current community and consumer relations specialist for the Piedmont Community Services agency, where she is responsible for representing PCS within the community, at group presentations, area health fairs, public forums, trades shows and other special events. She also handles public relations, media communication, marketing and newsletter duties for the agency.
Prior to working at PCS, Lovell was employed as the executive director of Blue Ride Manor, an executive assistant at the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce and at First Union National Bank.
She was a member of the board of directors and chairman of the public relations committee at Grace Network. She also has served on the board at the Martinsville Adult Day Care Center, and has been a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, the SPIRE National Honor Society and the Martinsville/Henry County Newcomers Club.
