  • Digital Marketing Scholarship for Fall2016 -  For high school seniors and college undergraduate students majoring (or plans to major) in a field related to digital marketing.  Must plan to take at least 10 credit hours during the fall 2016 semester Deadline: June 15, 2016

  • Foundation for Roanoke Valley: several scholarships

  • Goedekers College Scholarship: awarding a grand prize of $500 and two honorable mentions for $100; This scholarship will be offered nationwide. Scholarship is available to all students (Undergraduate and Graduate) and available to all fields of study. 
  • Health Focus of Southwest Virginia Scholarship Program: Your GPA must be 2.75 or better before being considered. You MUST be accepted into a medical program before you are eligible for a scholarship. Application and materials for the Health Focus Scholarship. 
  • Hughes Memorial Foundationawards Scholarships to individuals for higher education or job training with preference being given to needy and/or disadvantaged children living in the Virginia counties of Pittsylvania, Halifax, Mecklenburg, Charlotte, Campbell, Bedford, Franklin, Henry and Patrick. Applications are accepted in the spring with a deadline of April 1st and September 1st. The application and ALL required supporting documentation must be submitted by the deadline to be considered. 
  • J.T.- Minnie Maude Charitable Trust
  • Jack Kent Cooke Foundation - The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation invites applications for its Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, the largest private scholarship in the country for community college transfer students. As many as 85 students from a nationwide applicant pool will receive up to $40,000 per year for up to three years of study at any four-year accredited college or university of their choosing.
  • Langley Aerospace research Summer Scholars Program (LARSS) (http://www.nianet.org/larss/)
  • Rosana Anderon Scholarship (NABCJ/Western Virginia Chapter).  Deadline to apply is July 1, 2016. Amount is for $500.00 and is non-renewable. Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university and majoring in Criminal Justice or related studies and must submit a copy of their official college transcript. Freshmen must provide verification of enrollment for calendar year 2016-2017.
  • NURSE Corps Scholarship Program  receive funding for tuition, fees and other educational costs in exchange for working at an eligible NURSE Corps site upon graduation.
  • Nursing Scholarships through the Dept. of Health - Open to Virginia residents enrolled full- or part-time in the appropriate educational program. Some scholarships based on GPA and financial need. Deadline is June 30
  • The Senior Planning Social Work & Eldercare Award is a scholarship is for undergraduates who can demonstrate a commitment to the community in regard to healthcare and social assistance and are working toward a degree in social work.  
  • Staver Law Group national Scholarship - Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, accepted or currently enrolled, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Amount is $5,000. The deadline is   Deadline: December 1, 2016.  Applicants should demonstrate good character and strong motivation despite challenges.
  • Student Scholarships: several scholarships listed on this site.
  • The Veterans United Foundation’s primary goal is to assist military service members and their families by awarding five bi-annual $2,000 scholarships to help pay tuition and books.  To be eligible, the applicant must be a current active-duty service member, a veteran, spouse or child of a veteran/military member,  or a surviving spouse/child.  Applicants must display financial need and maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average. Deadlines are March 15 –Spring scholarships and September 15 –Fall scholarships to initiate the application process.  For details go to http://www.enhancelives.com/.
  • Virginia Foundation for Community College Education recognizes outstanding students of all ages and backgrounds through its statewide scholarship program. Visit their website. VFCCE scholarship information is also posted on the Virginia Education Wizard.
  • The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) offers internship opportunities. Application deadlines vary. Check their website for internships available.
  • Insider Scholarship is offering five $1,000 scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year to high school seniors and students attending an accredited college for the upcoming year. Download the application here. 
  • Martinsville Area Community Foundation is one of the largest providers of educational scholarships in this region. Each year, MACF awards more than $200,000 in scholarship funds to deserving students from Martinsville and the surrounding area.
  • Program Guidance for all of the program requirements. 
  • The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest requires students to raise awareness about the problem of underage drinking. Applicants must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) which raises awareness of the severity of the consequences of drunk driving among your peers. Two winners are chosen each year, one per semester, and each winner receives $500. Find out more about the scholarship here.
  • Shorr Packaging Scholarship  This essay is open to business students only. Submit your essay and any accompanying image files to with the subject line “Shorr Scholarship Entry.” Essays will be judged on thoughtfulness, creativity, and display of business knowledge and passion.   Deadline is January 31, 2016.  Click here for more details.
    2015 Margaret Lewis Scholarship (Paralegal) requires applicants to be attending a legal assistant/paralegal program at an approved school in Virginia on a part-time or full-time basis, and have completed at least 12 semester hours in the program.The scholarship is for $1,000 with a deadline of April 30. 
  •  Accredited Schools Online Scholarship Resource Guide includes an extensive list of scholarships and financial aid resources available specifically for minority students. The guide also includes tips for finding and securing scholarships and other financial aid.
  • VFRW Political  Studies Scholarship is open to undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The recipient must be a young woman and be studying government, political science or law.  Scholarship is for $1000.  Application must be received by March 4, 2016.
  • Valley Proteins Fellows Program: Open to rising 2nd year students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential. In addition to receiving up to $5,000 for tuition and books, Fellows participate in a unique leadership curriculum.  Application due May 16

Scholarships listed below are for PHCC students. Scholarships are financial awards to students on the basis of grades, community service or other requirements set forth by individual scholarship donors. Gifts from individuals and local community organizations have made the following scholarships possible. They are available to all qualified students enrolled at PHCC.

***TOBACCO COMMISSION FIRST GENERATION SCHOLARSHIP: link to the online application. Students must be a first generation college student, meaning neither parent has received an Associate’s Degree or higher and/or the applicant has not previously earned a college degree of Associate’s or higher. 

***TOBACCO COMMISSION STEM-H SCHOLARSHIP: link to the online application. Students are required to be enrolled in a STEM-H program of study and indicate the program of study on the application to be eligible. The application contains a drop-down listing of programs to select from, which will be verified before funds are awarded. STEM-H applicants do not have to be a first-generation college student. (First Generation means neither parent or the student themselves have a prior Associate's Degree or higher.) 

***GERALD L. BALILES COMMONWEALTH LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP: link to the application. Students who are first time, full time students who plan to enroll at Patrick Henry Community College for the 2016 fall and 2017 spring semester are eligible to apply. Students must have demonstrated potential leadership and academic excellence and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Deadline to return the completed application along with required application documents to the Foundation Office is May 31, 2016.

***ELEANOR SASLAW COMMONWEALTH LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP: link to the application. Students who are first or second year students in good standing who plan to enroll full time at Patrick Henry Community College for the 2016 fall and 2017 spring semester are eligible to apply. Students must be legal residents of Virginia and have demonstrated academic promise, financial need, and a 2.5 GPA. Deadline to return the completed application along with required application documents to the Foundation Office is May 31, 2016.

  1. A.L. PHILPOTT MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students maintaining a 2.5 GPA and enrolling full time. Financial need, leadership ability, and extracurricular activities are considered. First priority is given to a Bassett High School graduate. Second priority is given to students from a Martinsville or Henry County high school who meet the scholarship criteria.
  2. ALICE LESTER MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to full-time students with first priority being given to residents of the counties of Henry, Patrick, Franklin or the city of Martinsville. Preference is given to students in the following curriculums: business, nursing, occupational/technical, applied science, or engineering technology. PHCC students who continue their education with an affiliated on-campus program of a four-year institution may qualify.
  3. ALISON BAILEY PARKER GENERAL STUDIES MUSIC SPECIALIZATION MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the General Studies Music Specialization curriculum. Students must have a 2.75 GPA.
  4. ALISON BAILEY PARKER MEDIA PRODUCTION MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Media Production curriculum. Students must have a 2.75 GPA.
  5. ALMA M. DILLON MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to deserving students who are enrolled in the Horticulture program. Students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA and must have demonstrated community service.
  6. ARCHIE W. VIPPERMAN MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship fund was established through contributions made in memory of Archie Vipperman. The scholarship is awarded to full-time students who demonstrate financial need. The recipients must be Virginia residents who have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 and who plan to pursue a four-year degree.
  7. BARBARA EMMETT RICHMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship will be available to a student who has been accepted into the nursing program or who is a pre-med student. The student is required to be full-time and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
  8. BETA SIGMA PHI, VIRGINIA XI EPSILON CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a financially and an academically deserving female student who is 25 years of age or older. Applicants must be full-time and have attained a 3.0 grade point average.
  9. BETTY JANE SIMPSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student enrolled in the nursing program. Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  10. BIG C MOTORSPORTS SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in the Motorsports curriculum and have a 3.0 GPA.
  11. BILL BRAMMER MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to qualified and deserving full-time students who demonstrate financial need. Priority will be given to employees or dependents of employees of Bassett Furniture, then to Bassett High School graduates. Recipients must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.
  12. BLUE RIDGE HUMAN RESOURCE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is an employee or a dependent of an employee of a Blue Ridge Human Resources Association member company. Students must have a 3.0 GPA.
  13. CHARLES C. BASSETT III MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are residents of Martinsville or Henry County and are enrolled in Business Administration, Business Technology/Management, or Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD). Students must have a 3.0 GPA.
  14. CHRISTOPHER M. ABERCROMBIE MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to qualified students who are graduates of a high school in Martinsville or Henry County and who are enrolled as full-time students (12 hour minimum) in the college transfer program. Preference is given to children of Virginia Mirror Company, Inc. employees. The scholarship is awarded annually.
  15. CHRISTOPHER J. PARKER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student with a 3.0 GPA if a current PHCC student or a 3.5 GPA if a current High School graduate. Student will be expected to make a presentation to the Foundation Board at the fall meeting.
  16. CINDY DEAL MEDICAL OFFICE SPECIALIZATION SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled in the Administrative Support Technology, Medical Office Specialization. Students must be a native of Martinsville or Henry County and have a 2.0 GPA.
  17. CMP-HR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a resident or native of Patrick County. Students must be a graduate of Patrick County High School and a first year student at PHCC. Students must be enrolled in a transfer curriculum planning to major in Electrical Engineering, provide 2 letters of recommendation, and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  18. CMP-HR HUMAN RESOURCES SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a resident or native of Patrick County. Students must be a graduate of Patrick County High School and a first year student at PHCC. Students must be enrolled in a transfer curriculum planning to major in Human Resources or Business, provide 2 letters of recommendation, and maintain a 2.5 GPA.
  19. COMMUNITY SERVICE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who have a demonstrated commitment to community service by ongoing participation in volunteer activities and students who have diagnosed, documented ADD or learning disabilities and who are involved in community service. Recipients must maintain a CGPA of 2.5 at PHCC.
  20. CORPORAL JONATHAN BOWLING MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are graduates of Patrick County High School who plan to attend Patrick Henry Community College. Students must be planning to attend the public service fields such as Criminal Justice, Firefighting, Paramedic, EMT, Nursing, and Education.
  21. CRISTY REYNOLDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to First Generation college students who are enrolled full time. Students must demonstrate financial need and have a 2.5 GPA.
  22. DAN SPAUGH MEMORIAL THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in the General Studies Performing Arts Specialization. Students must have a 3.0 GPA.
  23. DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION (DAR) SCHOLARSHIP: The Patrick Henry Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution awards a scholarship to a deserving student selected by the Financial Aid Advisory Committee. Recipient must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Martinsville or Henry County.
  24. DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION (DAR) SCHOLARSHIP: The General Joseph Martin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution awards a scholarship to a deserving student enrolled in the educational field. Applicants must be residents of Martinsville/Henry County, attain a 2.0 overall average and demonstrate financial need. Must submit letter of recommendation attesting to DAR qualities.
  25. DAVID A. SWANSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a resident of Martinsville or Henry County with preference given to students enrolled in the Business or Education curriculum. Recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and provide 2 letters of recommendation.
  26. DEAN DAVID DEAL TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to student who is enrolled in the Information Technology curriculum. Preference is given to a graduate of Martinsville High School. Student must be enrolled full time and have a 2.5 GPA.
  27. DEAN HODGES WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who has met entrance requirements for a non-credit workforce development certification program and who is not eligible for other training funds.
  28. DILLOW-MEADOR SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in a degree or certificate program who is in good academic standing. Recipient must demonstrate financial need and maintain a 2.5 GPA.
  29. DR ANGELINE GODWIN AND JIM HATTEN PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a member of the Presidential Student Leadership Cabinet. Student must have significant community service involvement, extracurricular activity, documented and/or innovative activity, and specific leadership experience. Student must have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and a PHCC GPA of 3.0 or higher. One letter of recommendation must be submitted from teaching faculty or administration.
  30. DR. GREG AND RENEE HODGES SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who has successfully completed developmental education credits. Priority is given to students planning a career in the Education field. Students must be enrolled full time and have a 2.5 GPA.
  31. DR. J.W. CLARK MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: The scholarship is awarded to qualified and deserving full-time students who express the intention of entering a medical field. Students in pre-med, nursing, biological sciences, medical/health technology, or health-related programs are eligible. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA.
  32. DR. JETHRO HURT IRBY ENDOWED NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students preparing for a career in nursing. Students must be enrolled for at least 9 credit hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  33. DR RON AND WENDY EPPERLY FAMILY SOFTBALL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a female student athlete who is a signed member of the PHCC Softball team. Student must be enrolled full time and have a 3.0 GPA.
  34. EASTMAN CHEMICAL CENTER for ADVANCED FILM MANUFACTURING SCHOLARHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students that are enrolled in the certification course in Advanced Film Manufacturing who have a 2.75 GPA.
  35. ELEANOR SASLAW COMMONWEALTH LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a first or second year student in good standing at PHCC. Students must be enrolled full time, be a legal resident of Virginia, and have a 2.5 GPA.
  36. ELLEN P GALE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled in the Business or Education curriculum with a 2.5 GPA and demonstrated financial need.
  37. EMILY CHESHIRE WHITE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled full time with demonstrated financial need. Students must have a 3.0 GPA.
  38. EMORY AND GERTRUDE HARRIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are graduates of Patrick County High School. Students must have demonstrated financial need and have an interest in careers in law enforcement, healthcare, or agriculture fields.
  39. ENTRE NOUS BOOK CLUB SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a resident of Martinsville or Henry County who demonstrates financial need and maintains a 2.5 grade point average. Preference is given to students planning to pursue English major.
  40. EVELYN LAWING EDUCATIONAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to deserving students who reside within a 200-mile radius of the Henry County Clerks Office. Recipient must maintain 2.0 GPA. Family income must be less than $80,000 if one college student is enrolled and less than $95,000 if two or more college students are enrolled.
  41. F. L. OWENS MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted in Business Technology and can demonstrate financial need. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  42. FIGSBORO-PLEASANT GROVE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship was established by the Figsboro-Pleasant Grove Home Demonstration Club. Two scholarships are given to students living within 25 miles of the Franklin County-Henry County line on state road 108-890 in all directions. Preference is given to students living in the Franklin County or Figsboro communities. Applicants must have attained a 2.0 grade point average, demonstrate financial need, be of good character and be active in the community.
  43. FOLLETT TEXTBOOK SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and have a 2.0 GPA.
  44. FRANK J. STILL MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who demonstrates financial need and maintains a 2.0 GPA.
  45. FRIENDS OF DREWRY MASON SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student who is a graduate of a Martinsville or Henry County school. Recipient must show financial need and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  46. GENE HAAS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in the General Engineering or Motorsports curriculum. Students must be enrolled full time, have a 3.0 GPA, and provide a letter of recommendation from a high school or college faculty member or administrator.
  47. GENERAL TEXTBOOK SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who have a 2.0 GPA and need aid in obtaining textbooks.
  48. GEORGE W. LESTER III MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the General Studies Transfer curriculum. Students must have a 3.0 GPA.
  49. GRETCHEN FREEMAN SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who is enrolled full-time in the nursing field. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 GPA.
  50. H. CLAY EARLES ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship is awarded each year to an entering freshman who attained at least a "B" average upon graduating from high school.
  51. H. EARL BULLARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to residents of the Fieldale area who are at least 25 years of age. Recipients must demonstrate community involvement and financial need. Recipients must maintain good academic standing.
  52. H. GRADY MOORE, JR. MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a female student who is participating in the athletic program and maintain at least 2.0 GPA. Recipient must be attending PHCC full time.
  53. HELEN B. RACEY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a needy student in the educational field. Student must be enrolled full-time.
  54. HENRY COUNTY ROTARY CLUB ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship was established by the Henry County Rotary Club to be awarded to a PHCC full-time student who is enrolled in a degree or certificate program. The recipient must reside in Martinsville or Henry County, must maintain a 2.5 grade point average, and must demonstrate financial need. Recipient must agree to have picture published in local media as recipient of scholarship.
  55. HENRY COUNTY ROTARY CLUB ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP: The Henry County Rotary Club awards a scholarship to an entering PHCC freshman who has at least a cumulative 2.5 grade point average. Must be a Martinsville or Henry County high school graduate.
  56. THE HONORABLE GERALD R. BALILES COMMONWEALTH LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship will be available to first time, full time students who will enroll and attend Patrick Henry Community College in Fall 2014 and Spring 2015. Students must demonstrate academic excellence during high school and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Students must also demonstrate potential for public service and commitment to developing civic leadership. Two letters of recommendation are required from teachers, community leaders, or employers along with an official sealed copy of their high school transcript and a student statement. A separate application will be available online beginning April 1 and must be completed and returned to the PHCC Foundation Office in Frith Room 146.
  57. HUMAN SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP: Students must be enrolled in the Human Services certificate program. Must have a 2.5 GPA and must demonstrate financial need.
  58. IRIS WHITLOW MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of Patrick County High School. Students must be enrolled full time, have a 2.5 GPA, and priority will be given to students planning a career in the Business field.
  59. IRVING M. GROVES, JR. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a needy or deserving student. Recipient must maintain a 2.0 GPA.
  60. IVEY C. STONE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled full time and have demonstrated financial need. Students must have a 2.5 GPA and involvement in community service activities.
  61. J.D. BASSETT, SR. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student who demonstrates financial need. Priority will be given to Henry County, Patrick County and Martinsville City residents. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a transfer curriculum.
  62. JACK A MULLINS SR. MEMORIAL ATHLETIC AND EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student athlete who is enrolled in the Education curriculum and aspires to be a Teacher. Student must be enrolled full time and be in good standing with their athletic team. Student must have a 2.75 GPA.
  63. JAMES BURNESS FRITH BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled full time in the Business Administration curriculum. Students must have demonstrated financial need, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and have a high school GPA of 3.5 if enrolling directly out of high school. Priority is given to a first generation college student.

  67. JESSIE H KEY MEMORIAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship was established by the family of Mrs. Key in her honor and will be presented at the LPN pinning ceremony. Recipient must plan to begin work in the geriatric field and award will help cover expenses of licensing exam, uniforms and nursing shoes.
  68. JESSIE FRYE RHODES NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to nursing students who are in the final semester and eligible for graduation from the PN and RN program. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, have a 3.0 GPA, reside in the PHCC service area, and submit an additional essay. The donor requests funds awarded be applied to the cost of NCLEX testing.
  69. JOHN & SALLY HANBURY VICE PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Business Administration, Accounting, or Legal Assisting program with a 2.5 GPA and demonstrated financial need.
  70. JULIE MEADOR HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship was established in honor of Julie Meador by her husband, Robert Meador. A scholarship will be given annually to a student who is enrolled in a certificate or degree program at PHCC and maintains a 3.0 GPA. Priority will be given to a student living with a potentially disabling condition or who is the primary caretaker of a disabled relative.
  71. KATE LEGARD HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP: Established by Albert Prillaman in honor of Kate Legard, an administrative assistant who retired from Stanley Furniture Company. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who maintains a 3.0 GPA and is a resident of Martinsville and Henry County.
  72. KATHLEEN SMITH ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship is given to a student having at least a 2.0 grade point average and enrolled full-time. Student must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program and demonstrate financial need.
  73. KATHY WHITLEY HONORARY NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a second year nursing student with a 2.5 GPA. A letter of recommendation is required from a member of the nursing faculty.
  74. KIWANIS GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of Bassett, Martinsville, or Magna Vista High School. The student must be enrolled full time and have a 3.0 GPA.
  75. LLOYD S. SWAIN MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who demonstrates financial need and is enrolled in the electronics/electrical technology program. Student must be maintain a 2.5 GPA.
  76. LOIS VIRGINIA ANDERSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in the Medical Office Specialization curriculum and have a 2.75 GPA.
  77. MANESHA WARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in the Administration of Justice curriculum. Students must have demonstrated financial need and a 3.0 GPA. Priority will be given to single parents.
  78. MARTINSVILLE HENRY COUNTY LIONS CLUB ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student enrolled in a degree or certificate program. The student must have a 2.5 GPA and be a resident of the city of Martinsville or Henry County. First preference will be given to the son, daughter or grandchild of a current Martinsville Lions Club member; second preference will be given to the son, daughter or grandchild of any past member; third preference will be given to the son, daughter or grandchild of a current member of any Lions Club. Preference will also be given to students pursuing a career in medicine, nursing or a health-related field.
  79. MARTINSVILLE MEMORIAL FELLOWS NURSING SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is given to students who are enrolled in the Associates Degree Nursing program. Students must provide a letter of recommendation from a member of the PHCC nursing faculty and participate in an interview with Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County representatives. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and commit to an employment term with MHMHC upon completion of the fellows program.
  80. MARTINSVILLE ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP: Students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 2.0 GPA, provide a list of completed courses and achievements. Must provide letter stating goals and ambitions and why they are deserving of scholarship. Preference is given to students with community involvement.

  84. MELVIN L. ADKINS AGRIBUSINESS MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Agribusiness curriculum. Priority is given to a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). Students must be enrolled full time, demonstrate financial need, maintain a 3.0 GPA and have at least a 3.0 high school GPA if enrolling directly out of high school.

MEMORIAL HOSPITAL OF MHC VOLUNTEER AUXILIARY BOARD NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a City of Martinsville resident and a Henry County resident who is enrolled in the PN or RN program. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, be enrolled full time and maintain a 2.5 GPA. The award can be used for tuition, books, and associated nursing program fees.
  86. MID-ATLANTIC BROADBAND STEM-H TEXTBOOK SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of a high school in the Southside Tobacco region within the Mid Atlantic Broadband footprint. Students must be enrolled in a STEM-H program of study and have a 3.2 GPA.
  87. MIKE ROGERS HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled in the Administration of Justice curriculum. The student must be enrolled full time and have a 2.5 GPA.
  88. MISS CROOKED ROAD PAGEANT SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to the a participant in the Miss Crooked Road Scholarship pageant. Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. Students must have a 2.0 GPA and enrol at PHCC in the semester following the pageant award.
  89. MT SINAI APOSTLE CHURCH OF CHRIST IN GOD SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students who are active in the Mt. Sinai Apostle Church of Christ in God and maintain satisfactory progress.
  90. MYRTIS AND JACK LESTER SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship will be awarded to a worthy part-time student who demonstrates financial need. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  91. MYSTICAL RIDERS MOTORCYCLE ORGANIZATION SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship was established by the Mystical Riders Motorcycle Organization who is a non-profit organization that engages people from all walks of life that have two common interest - the motorcycle and becoming more active in addressing the priority needs of our community. By charity fund raising, investing funds, and volunteering service, the organization is committed to making a positive impact for those who need it most while promoting a positive image of the motorcycle community. The student must maintain a 2.0 GPA and attach a biographical statement of school, church or community involvement.
  92. PATRICK HENRY SCHOLARS:  This merit award program is administered by the Patrick Henry Community College Foundation. Up to ten students are selected from high schools in the college’s service region and granted a full tuition scholarship. Selected by the Foundation’s Scholarship committee, students must display academic and leadership potential. Students must maintain a 3.2 GPA at PHCC and perform volunteer, community service, and extracurricular activities while a member of the Scholars program. Interested students should apply online on the PHCC website during February and March each year. Students selected as Patrick Henry Scholars become members of a prestigious community of scholars, and the program provides them an intense and enriching college experience. Selected scholars are afforded a variety of events. Activities, and services designed to create a stimulating learning environment, and they receive special recognition as a group and as individuals for this distinguished achievement.
  93. PAUL GRUBB MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship is awarded to a student in the Administration of Justice program who is enrolled for at least six semester credits. The student should demonstrate financial need and have attained at least a 2.0 overall grade point average.
  94. PEGGY SPENCER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Established by Albert Prillaman in memory of Peggy Spencer who was employed at Stanley Furniture Company from 1958-1991 as an administrative assistant. Peggy Spencer exemplified efficiency and professionalism. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who maintains a 3.0 GPA and is a resident of Martinsville and Henry County.
  95. RIVER COMMUNITY BANK N.A. SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a graduate of Martinsville, Bassett, Magna Vista, Patrick County High School or the Carlisle school. Student must be enrolled full time and have a 2.5 GPA.
  96. RON AND MARY B HALEY EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students who are graduates of Patrick County High School. Students must have a 2.5 GPA.
  97. ROSLYN WINGETT VISUAL ARTS SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled in the General Studies, Visual Arts Specialization curriculum. Students must be full time and present a portfolio during a committee interview.
  98. ROY C. STONE MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a qualified full-time student who demonstrates financial need and has at least a 2.5 grade point average.
  99. ROY LESSLY MEMORIAL ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are active members of an athletic team. Students must have demonstrated financial need and a 3.0 GPA.
  100. SAMUEL BYRD AND BEATRICE MINTER MAY MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship is awarded to a full-time student enrolled in a degree or certificate program who resides in the community of Fieldale. Students should demonstrate financial need and attain at least a 2.0 overall average.
  101. SANDRA MOORE ESTES MEMORIAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the RN or PN nursing programs. Preference is given to students who are single mothers. An additional essay submission is required.
  102. SARAH L. MANSFIELD, RN, MEMORIAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a first year student in Fall semester and a second year student in the Spring semester. Recipients must be enrolled in the RN program with preference given to displaced homemakers. An additional essay submission is required. Funds awarded can be used for supportive services such as uniforms, shoes, NCLEX study guide, and the cost of state boards.
  103. SELLS, HOGG, AND ASSOCIATES SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in a Business curriculum with a 2.5 GPA.
  104. SHELLEY FRITH DRANE PERFORMING ARTS MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Performing Arts program. Students must be enrolled full time and have demonstrated financial need. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 if enrolling directly out of high school. Priority will be given to a member of the International Thespian Society or to a student who has completed the necessary hours if the school does not participate in the program.
  105. SLATE-WILSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who is a dependent of a full-time Martinsville city employee. Recipients must have a 2.5 GPA.
  106. SMITH INTERNATIONAL STUDIES ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who plan to pursue careers in International Business. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled full time. 
  107. SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE GARDEN CLUB HORTICULTURAL ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Horticulture, Viticulture, or Agribusiness curriculum. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and have a 2.0 GPA at time of application. Student must provide 2 letters of recommendation.
  108. STANLEY FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship will be given to a resident of the Bassett/Stanleytown area enrolling as a freshman in an occupational or technical program. May be renewable for a second year provided the student maintains good academic standing at the college.
  109. STEVE BRANCH STEM SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the General Engineering Technologies curriculum. Student must be enrolled full time and have a 2.5 GPA.
  110. SYLVESTER AND MARIE F. TURNER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to students who are residents of Henry County. Students must have demonstrated financial need, community service involvement, and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  111. SYLVIA ADAMS NURSING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a nursing student who has good academic standing. Preference will be given to students who plan to work in the nursing field in the Henry County area.
  112. THOMAS PAGE DALTON MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in the General Studies Transfer curriculum. Students must be residents of Martinsville or Henry County
  113. VALLEY STAR CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Business curriculum. Students must be enrolled full time, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Priority is given to sophomore level students.
  114. VFCCE COMMONWEALTH LEGACY:  This scholarship was established by the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education. Awards will be made to full time, associate’s degree seeking students who plan to graduate from a Virginia Community College. Selections are based on academic excellence and students who demonstrate a willingness to promote community college education, show a willingness to mentor future scholars, and demonstrate a commitment to developing leadership potential.
  115. VA TOBACCO INDEMNIFICATION AND COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR TOBACCO FARMERS: Must be a Tobacco farmer, have an immediate family member who is a Tobacco Farmer, or have an occupation that is related to the decline or loss of Tobacco production since the year 2000. Immediate family is defined as: father, mother, step-father, step-mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, step-grandfather, step-grandmother. Student must also maintain good academic standing. To receive this scholarship the student must have applied for and used all other financial assistance prior to Tobacco funds.
  116. VIRGINIA TECH TRANSFER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is in their final semester of studies who intends to transfer to Virginia Tech. Recipient must have been enrolled in a transfer program of study, have a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate intention of their transfer and enrollment at Virginia Tech.
  117. VIRGINIA TRANSFORMER CORPORATION SCHOLARSHIP: Students must be a resident of Patrick County. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA in Math & Science courses and have an overall GPA of 3.2. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a transfer program majoring in Math & Science careers such as Industrial Electronics, General Engineering, Information Systems Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Pre-Med, or Mathematics. An essay addressing specific questions is required.
  118. WALTER N. MORRIS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and maintains at least 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to a resident of Henry County, Patrick County, or the City of Martinsville.
  119. WANDA PARKER AND MARGARET MULLINS EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Education curriculum who is planning to be a Teacher. Students must have a 2.75 GPA.

  121. WELLS FARGO CNA SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the core CNA program. Students must have a 2.5 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to dislocated workers.

  123. WILEY T. NANCE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to qualified students who demonstrate financial need and must be in good academic standing. Must have a 2.0 GPA.
  124. WILLIAM F. STONE, SR. MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to qualified students who demonstrate financial need and who provide letter of recommendation from a non-relative attesting to the above qualities.

  126. WILLIAM R. JAMISON, JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Students must be enrolled full-time in the Administration of Justice program at PHCC. Must demonstrate financial need and must have a 2.5 GPA.
  127. WOOD BROTHERS HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled in the Motorsports curriculum. The student must be enrolled full time and have a 2.5 GPA.

PATRICK HENRY SCHOLARS AND COMMONWEALTH LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP: The application period has ended for this year. To be eligible for the Patrick Henry Scholars award, you must be a high school senior within the PHCC service region who will be graduating in 2016 or a student who has completed a homeschool program of study. To be eligible for the Commonwealth Legacy Scholarship award, you must be attending Patrick Henry Community College for the first time.
